Zetman : Human or hero ?

Image
Hello again and welcome back to my blog, sadly tho, this will be my last post ! I know, tragic. I thought for a while about what manga I should speak about as the last one. I could've gone with my favorite or even end without any particular changes. I ended up thinking I'll just speak about the last manga I read and finished yesterday,  Zetman. Zetman is a manga written and illustrated by Masakazu Katsura. It was supposed to be a 49 page one-shot but ended up getting a full fledged series of 20 tomes.  The plot is a bit hard to explain, it's got a lot of plot twist and leaves you in the dark for the majoritiy of it's start, leaving you to wonder who's right and who's wrong, who's a traitor and who's an ally. Zetman touches on the subject of love and friendship a lot, it's almost the center of the manga. Jin is a kid that has the power to transform into Zetman, a super powerful hero, but he is human, so will he pick to be a hero and save other by sacr...

Mangas and Live-actions

Welcome back, everyone! Another day, another post We've talked about manga a lot! Obviously, since it's this blog's subject, but I thought that we could go ahead and see the impact of mangas on other media, more precisely movies and series adaptations. With how popular manga and anime grew to be, it was clear that studios would try and get the rights to make adaptations of them, some of the biggest names had Live adaptations as they're called: Dragon Ball Z, Attack On Titans, Death Note, Alita battle angel were all turned into movies including real actors.   The main problem with them is how hard it is to describe this fantastic world full of strange things happening in the real world, often looking strange or straight-up disturbing The characters of the movie Alita battle angel on the top and the anime on the bottom.  So most of the time, manga and anime fans tend to hate these adaptations, they usually don't respect the original plot and decide to go for their own...

Blood on the Tracks : A mother that'll protect her son at any cost.

Another day, another manga! Since my first posts were mostly about action type mangas, I thought I'd talk about some serious ones now. We're gonna talk about a manga that talks about psychological horror, where the state of the main character slowly deteriorates as the story goes. Usually it's due to a traumatic event, eiher caused by criminals or even monsters in some cases, but here it's caused by the main charactere's mother. Blood on the Tracks is a manga written and drawn by Shuzo Oshimi, It has been serialized in Shogakukan's seinen manga magazine Big Comic Superior since February 2017, with its chapters collected into eleven tankōbon volumes as of June 2021.  The story is a strange one : Seiichi Osabe, a highschooler, has always had an overprotective mother, Seiko. She'd always make sure he was safe or even came with him to school, sitting next to him in class. Oosabe never felt weirded out or scared by his mother tho, feeling quite comfortable aroun...

Mieruko-Chan: A spooky manga ?

Image
Welcome back everyone, it's been a while ! I was busy for a bit so I haven't posted as much as I was used to but I'm back on the track !  So far, we've mostly talked about fighting anime; one where it's a tournament, one where a character uses his strength over magic or even one where Gods and humans fight it out ! I thought that it'd be repetitive to talk about yet another action based story and this time since it's Halloween ! (Okay i'm one week late but let's just act like it's actually Halloween) I thought I'd speak about one of the few "horror" manga I've read : Mieruko-Chan  Just by taking a good look at the cover, you understand some of the plot : A highschool girl, having to live her everyday life even tho she has the ability to see ghosts around her. That's it ! Mieruko, the main character, has to act like she doesn't seem them or they could haunt her forever, the thing is, these monsters are terryfing, even thr...
